Overview

TradeBook is a Chrome extension that helps traders journal their trades. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we handle and how.

Data Storage

All trade data, settings, psychology tags, and preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device. We do not operate any servers that receive or store your trading data.

Broker Access

TradeBook reads only visible text on supported broker pages (Dhan, Angel One, Zerodha Kite) using content scripts. It does NOT:

• Access your broker login credentials or passwords
• Access your API keys or session tokens
• Place, modify, or cancel any orders
• Access account balance or fund information
• Transmit any broker data to external servers

License Validation

When you enter a license key to activate a paid plan, the key is validated against LemonSqueezy's API (api.lemonsqueezy.com). Only the license key string is transmitted. No trade data, personal information, or browser data is sent during this process.

Analytics & Tracking

The TradeBook extension contains zero analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, or any similar service inside the extension. Our marketing website may use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible) which does not use cookies.

Chrome Permissions Explained

• activeTab — Read visible page content on broker sites when you click Scan
• storage — Store your trade journal data locally in Chrome
• downloads — Export your data as CSV/JSON files to your computer
• scripting — Inject the trade scanner overlay on broker pages
• alarms — Schedule local daily tasks (no network calls)

Data Deletion

Your data is stored locally. To delete all TradeBook data:

• Uninstall the extension (removes all stored data), or
• Go to Chrome → Extensions → TradeBook → Details → Clear data

Children's Privacy

TradeBook is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. Trading in financial markets requires legal age in your jurisdiction.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
